"I was sad & this show made me feel better. Rock'n' Roll can Cure Your Soul...but so can the Bible."
"I really just came to See Young Egypt (cause that's my boi) but I only caught that last few minutes of his set, and too try out my new What Youth Quick Film Camera. I also got into a convo with one of the twins from Sonic Grafitti about Religion and New York City "
Welcome to Miami.
"So I took a delayed flight to Miami, show didn't start till 12:30am anyways so I walked around the square watched a band in a world of beer, got a Sprite, got my Want Les Essentiels De La Vie bag searched by at the door, took some cool pictures and sung along with Yelle singing Completement Fou, ate at a late night restaurant at 3 in the morning, hopped in a Cab to Get to the Viceroy a beautiful hotel in downtown Miami, when I got there there was an ambulance I'm assuming due to an incident in the Rooftop Club, Danced on My Balcony to my Soundcloud Likes and Fell asleep at 5:00am, woke up a 8:00am had scoped the Pool, got told I couldn't take pictures up there, had Brunch at the beautiful rooftop restaurant and called a taxi to catch an amtrak train within 10 minutes of it leaving, had a good convo with a beautiful Brazilian girl all while getting familiar with my teenage music collection, the train smelled of old disinfectant cleaner." In English it means "Lovers of the Bastille" I went to the Members Opening of "Five Decades of Photography at the MFA Featuring the Dandrew-Drapkin Collection" at the Museum of Fine Arts on Beach Dr. in Downtown St Petersburg, FL last night, lots of silver hair and old money. anyways, right near the gift shop I came across this photograph, it struck me like lightning, Its absolutely stunning. The composition, the contrast of black and white and the iconic Tour Eiffel in the billowy distance. I absolutely would love to have the photograph in large print. I also would love to have a picture like this of myself with my own significant other. You should check out the Interviews of Ronis on YouTube he's very insightful. You can go and check it out for yourself at the MFA It will be showing from June 20th-October 4th Le Baiser de l'Hotel de Ville By Robert Doisneau I Also Loved this Image by Robert Doisneau also shot in paris. In English it means Kiss of the City Hall. Its a wonderful in the moment photograph rumored to be staged with actors but its only speculation, I would also love to have a shot like this of myself with my significant other xoxo thedowntowncat
"One Day Soon Me and My Prada Bag will Be United and it will feel so good." xoxo thedowntowncat
"J E A N L U C - G O D A R D - King of the French New Wave. He's here talking about how people don't want people filming other people filming in certain places, its certainly true, nothing has genuinely changed, except that now we have 16 Megapixel cameras on our phones which no one has banned yet, Some shows you go to say you cant bring a DSLR Camera inside, or a professional camera, when I went to go see Neutral Milk Hotel, they didn't want people taking pictures at all, WHY NOT! When the Fleeting Moment is gone often all we have left is a Photograph to Remind. Anyways if Godard is right that means we're all making political statements in someway aren't we."
The other morning I went to have breakfast a cassis, I ordered as delicious breakfast burrito which included chorizo sausage, along with seasoned potatoes, it was delicious! I also ordered a Cappuccino, (the froth is my favorite), all in all I would highly recommend going there for breakfast, you just might end up being fortunate enough to get Cassis all to yourself! x thedowntowncat
Burgatory was Awesome! Great Bands and lots of Energy, After the show I met the Guy from Fero Lux he was super cool, and so was his musique! Before it started I went to a Gallery Opening and got some free food and during the show there was photo show across the street at blond, After almost 5 hours of straight rock n' Roll I found that my ears were ringing so I walked down central and bought a soda at this new restaurant. All and all it was a pretty great night! Hopefully next year there will be a bigger turn out, there werent that many people, it seems like some people have a problem paying for random bands they've never heard of, but I don't understand because every band you love now was once some random band you've never heard of, so get out there a support your local scene, if you live in St. Petersburg,fl Archaic Interest, Jensen Serf Company, Alexander & the Grapes, and Permanent Makeup are Incredible, and of Course Polyenso which are actually nationally recognized! We've got a great scene I'd love to see more really good bands doing really good shows so start a band! So I can come see ya!! - xoxo thedowntowncat
So I bought these tickets 3 months earlier, which is a lot considering I usually only buy tix at the door, and I will say it was totally worth it, I literally cried during Two Headed Boy Part II, They asked everyone to not take pictures, (evidently I still did haha), I even got to meet Julian Koster! So classic. Nights like that are why I keep going to shows. xoxo thedowntowncat
"The Museum of Fine Arts held a fantastic event the other night, but then again their events are always fabulous, aren't they. So I found out Swimm was coming to St.Peterburg on Songkick and I was like I wonder where they're playing...turns out they're playing at the museum, the ticket was $100 dollars, but it also included a membership to the museum of fine arts and the Contemporaries so I said why not! The had delicious Dean & Dewitt chocolates, cotton candy, snack foods, free drinks and Coffee! They were also still exhibiting the Monet to Matisse Exhibition and the Life a Beach Exhibition, in the gallery. I even ran into my buddy Alex Schultz from Polyenso formerly known as Oceana. I met some cool new people including the Lead Singer of Swimm Chris Hess which the one of the ladies that works at the museum introduced me too, he was soo nice and (Really Cute!) he took a picture with me and I chatted with him about L.A and some of his friends who live out there. He even gave me tbeir set list which they wrote on a paper plate. After that we said our goodbyes, I was hungry so I stopped at Marchands for Lobster Mac & Cheese Sandwhich, and I met a half intoxicated blond lady (I love blonde people) I ended up running into Chris Again and then I rode my bike home. When I went home I had Butterflies...if you go home with butterflies that means it was a Good Night" xoxo thedowntowncat
